I got a bunch of old albums that used to belong to my mom and my dad. They're all banged up. This is my blog about organizing them and trying to restore them. That's what I intended it to be at first anyway. Turns out this stuff is so old and so tied to my memories about my family that it's turning into a blog about them too. Sometimes I try to be funny. Maybe a lot of the time? I should probably rewrite this description. Probably won't though.

Bob Dylan - The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan
Plays beautifully. When I played this for Amy she said, "Wow, I never realized how much I really liked Bob Dylan." I think my favorite song on this album is "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright."
I don't really have much to add. I played it over a month ago when I was deep in the depths of studying for finals and I don't remember much. Plus I'm home alone and drinking because fuck you I'm a grown up I can do what I want.

The Great Escape
It was a great movie. I don't particularly remember the score. But it's been a long time since I saw it last. Maybe some day I'll sit down and watch this with my kid and I'll tell him, "One time my old man sat me down and watched this movie with me. He told me it was awesome but I was skeptical. Turns out he was right." That's kind of what pawing through all these records is turning into for me. Reliving old memories. It's kind of cool that almost all of them are good memories. I hope when my kid grows up he has mostly positive memories about his family. There are no guarantees, right? I think I'm a pretty okay dad. I try really hard. But James is only two. I haven't really had time to fuck him up real bad yet.
Anyway, I dunno. I'm getting sick of this sappy family bullshit so I'm gonna get right back to busting my old man's chops about all the freaking folk music.
