I got a bunch of old albums that used to belong to my mom and my dad. They're all banged up. This is my blog about organizing them and trying to restore them. That's what I intended it to be at first anyway. Turns out this stuff is so old and so tied to my memories about my family that it's turning into a blog about them too. Sometimes I try to be funny. Maybe a lot of the time? I should probably rewrite this description. Probably won't though.

The Rolling Stones - Let It Bleed
Every single song on this album is incredible. Every single god damned song. Is. Incredible. This may be my favorite find so far.
Updated 5/4/2014
This is probably my favorite Stones album so it's a shame how poorly it plays. I cleaned it up and it's not warped. It doesn't have any visible scratches on it and my needle is good and clean. But it crackles a lot the whole time. Not so bad that it's not listenable. But it's noticeable the entire time. The first song, "Gimme Shelter," is probably my favorite track. The best part of that song is the backing vocal by Merry Clayton. The entire album is great though. It opens in side one with my favorite Stones song and closes side two with "You Can't Always Get What You Want," probably their most famous song. There's a county version of "Honkey Tonk Women" called "Country Honk." The title track is incredible. "Midnight Rambler." "Monkey Man." Almost every song on here belongs on a Rolling Stones greatest hits album. Most of them probably have been. I love this album.

The Rolling Stones - Their Satanic Majesties Request
Best thing I can say about this is the cover is neat. I never heard of any of the songs. According to wikipedia, even the band doesn't like this album. So I dunno. I think this really is the last of the Rolling Stones now.

The Rolling Stones - Beggars Banquet
Been waiting for "Sympathy for the Devil" to show up. And that wraps up the Rolling Stones, for a while anyway. I think there are some other ones lurking in the stack somewhere. Pretty sure I saw Their Satanic Majesties Request in there before I started taking pics.

The Rolling Stones - Big Hits (High Tide and Green Grass)
Here's the thing about Mick Jagger, he sounds great on an album but he can't sing live. Like, not at all. My mom got all bent out of shape at me once when I told her that but I don't care because, A: it's true and B: I didn't tell her where this blog is so she's not reading this. Anyway, good songs on this one.

The Rolling Stones - Out Of Our Heads
Alright, let's see what we got here. "The Last Time" and "Satisfaction". Huh. There's a shitload of Rolling Stones albums here but they all legitimately have at least one or two incredible songs on them.

The Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers
Hello, Ladies.
Update August 16, 2014:
Finally got around to playing this thing. Plays just fine. Great tracks. I wasn't in the mood for it at the time. I can't think of any amusing stories about it so... yeah.

The Rolling Stones - 12 x 5
Okay, okay, I get it. You like the Rolling Stones. Oh, fuck. This one has "Time Is on My Side" on it. Shit, I hope this one plays.

The Rolling Stones - Between the Buttons
I think my parents may have had more albums by the Rolling Stones than by the Beatles which, judging by my mom's chronic Beatlemania, I would not have guessed.

The Rolling Stones - Aftermath
There are two versions of this in the stack, one in the handwritten sleeve seen below. Hopefully one of them is playable. With tracks like "Paint it Black" and "Under My Thumb" it would be a serious disappointment if I couldn't play either one of them.

The Rolling Stones - Flowers
I was never under the impression these guys were into the whole flower child thing. I picture them as more shit-kicking blues-rock guys.

The Rolling Stones - Tattoo You
This one's got "Waiting on a Friend" on it which is one of my favorite Stone's tunes. Also "Start Me Up" which is basically just a Mick Jagger cock strut. But hey, if you're into that kinda thing, who am I to judge?

The Rolling Stones - England's Newest Hit Makers
Hey, look at these nice young clean-cut boys from England. I bet they'll be a positive influence on our kids.
Yes, I'm aware no one actually thought that. Work with me here.
So far this is the oldest album I've found.
Update August 16, 2014:
This thing is so badly warped it looks like a candy dish. It plays but it's a stretch to call it playable. I may never spin this one again.
